Mi24 A.I. Created. Game play video featuring M3A1 fight against Mi24.

We’ve just finished implementing the A.I. system of Mi24 Krokodil.
Mi24 Krokodil is a 2nd generation BattleFrame, comparable machine to the M3A1. The machine (and the A.I. system) is greatly improved from the 1st generation BattleFrame like Mi19 Strelki and Mi20 Shilka.

The ability to use multiple weapon in engagement, the sub machine guns can be used as active missile protection system, computer aided aiming, and the ability to use booster both in defensive and offensive manuever make 2nd BattleFrame like Mi24 much more powerful than its predecessor.

In the video you will see 1 M3A1 vs. 3 Mi24 (1x missile type, 2x cannon type). Please note that the M3 pilot is experienced. M3A1 and Mi24 are both 2nd generation BattleFrame.

Project Progress update: 21 April 2013

Here’s the new gameplay vid:

OK, there’s a lot of thing changed from the last time we upload the gameplay video.

– The game’s first original soundtrack arrived, “Semper Fidelis” composed by Narupai Asksornmee. This music will be played in most USMC mission. (Morgan Akin, Esmeralda Ingrid early mission)

– We’ve remade that floating city of Taipei-3 for the third time! I hope this will be the last time.

– Still, a lot of work need to be done for this level.

– Aiming calculation improved for both player and enemy.

– This level will include tutorial text later.

Devlog: Machine gun auto aiming calculation have been improved.

We’ve improved player’s mech autoaiming calculation system for machine gun type weapon. By changing the referenced position from the mech’s position to the gun barrel position and we add moving target position prediction to the equation. The result is, the auto-aimed vulcan become much more accurate. It become much more powerful, may be too powerful that we might have to adjust it down later.

This calculation will be used by all 2nd generation and newer BattleFrame in the game including the enemy. Beam weapon will be very hard to evade.

Mi24 Zadniy’s design adjusted



We’ve adjusted the Mi24 Zadniy’s design a little bit. The main cannon is moved to the shoulder and two submachine guns added to each hand.

Mi24 Zadniy is 2nd generation BattleFrame from the UCN manufacturer Mikoyan. It meet the USAF criteria of 2nd generation BattleFrame: Able to operate multiple weapon at once and able to use Boosting to instantly change the frame moving direction/speed.

We’ll write more detail about this model later. Right now we’ve just set up it in the game engine. We shall code it A.I. soon.
